Dry Dial Water Meter
Advantages
- Clear readings: The counter part of the dry water meter is isolated from the water flow, and the reading dial does not touch the water, so the reading is always clear and is not affected by water quality or sediment.
- Strong durability: Because the counting mechanism is isolated from the water, the dry water meter performs better in poor water quality or low temperature environments and is not easily affected by corrosion, wear or freezing.
- Adapt to harsh environments: Dry water meters are suitable for use in cold or highly corrosive environments because their internal mechanical parts do not directly contact the water flow.
Disadvantages
- Higher cost: Due to the complex structural design, the manufacturing cost of dry water meters is higher, so the price is usually higher than that of wet water meters.
Wet Dial Water Meter
Advantages
- Lower cost: Wet water meters have a simple structure and low manufacturing cost, so the price is more economical.
- Simple structure: Wet water meters are easy to manufacture and maintain, suitable for large-scale use, especially under limited budgets.
Disadvantages
- Fuzzy readings: The reading disk of a wet water meter is immersed in water, which may cause unclear readings due to bubbles, sediments, or water quality problems.
- Susceptible to water quality: Since the reading device is in direct contact with the water flow, the wet water meter is easily affected by impurities, sediments, and corrosive substances in the water, which may cause inaccurate measurement or damage to the reading device.
- Not suitable for cold environments: In cold areas, wet water meters may be damaged by internal water freezing because the water flow directly contacts the mechanical parts inside the meter.
Dry water meters are suitable for use in conditions with poor water quality, low temperatures or harsh external environments. Although they are more expensive, their durability and reading clarity make them perform well in these environments, and dry water meters are usually chosen more.
Wet water meters are cheaper and suitable for use in budget-constrained situations, but they require regular maintenance after long-term use.
