How to read the water meter when purchasing, installing, maintaining and repairing the water meter?
Every family is inseparable from the use of water. We all know that the recording of water consumption is done by water meters. If you want to know how much water you use, you have to learn to look at the water meter and know how to read it. However, it is not enough to master the method of reading the water meter, because the water meter will inevitably break down and need to be repaired. Types of water meters
According to the measurement level: According to the old version of the standard, it can be divided into A-level meter, B-level meter, C-level meter, and D-level meter.
According to the nominal diameter: it is divided into large-caliber water meters and small-caliber water meters.
Divided by purpose: divided into civil water meters and industrial water meters.
According to the installation direction: speed water meters can be divided into horizontal installation water meters and vertical installation water meters.
According to temperature: divided into cold water meter and hot water meter.
According to pressure: divided into ordinary water meter and high-pressure water meter.
Divided by water immersion: According to whether the counter is immersed in water, it is divided into wet water meter, dry water meter, and liquid-sealed water meter.
Water meter purchase
1. The selected water meter should be accurate and reliable in measurement;
2. Adapt to the water quality conditions of the pipe network, with excellent material and durable;
3. The structure should be simple and the price should be low;
4. Starting flow value, minimum flow value and boundary flow value are all low;
5. Small size and weight should be cleaned, and it is convenient for disassembly and assembly;
6. The meter reading is accurate and convenient, and is compatible with local management;
7. Large flow capacity and small head loss.
Water meter installation
1. Install a straight pipe section with the same cross-section as the pipe at least 5 times the gauge diameter before the water meter inlet, and install a straight pipe section at least 2 times the gauge diameter at the water meter outlet.
2. The connecting pipes upstream and downstream of the water meter cannot be reduced in diameter.
3. It is recommended to install flow control equipment (such as valves) and filtering equipment.
4. The flange sealing ring shall not protrude into the pipeline or be misplaced.
5. The pipe must be thoroughly cleaned before installing the water meter to avoid debris damage to the water meter.
6. The water flow direction of the water meter should be consistent with the water flow direction of the pipeline.
7. After the water meter is installed, slowly fill the pipe with water to prevent the high-speed airflow from damaging the water meter.
8. The installation position should ensure that the pipeline is full of water, and air bubbles will not be concentrated in the meter. Avoid installing the water meter at the highest point of the pipeline.
9. The water meter should be protected from the impact of water pressure.
10. The small-diameter rotary-wing water meter must be installed horizontally, and the sensitivity will be reduced if it is tilted back and forth or left and right.
How to look at the water meter
First, we know the way the water meter displays the readings. Generally, the water meter displays the reading through the combination of the black word wheel and the red pointer.
Then, let's get to know the structure of the reading display. Generally, the reading consists of a black character wheel and a red pointer. The black character wheel generally displays integer digits. Note that it is enough for us to read the numbers on the character wheel. The reading on the pointer is used for the inspection of the water meter when it leaves the factory. The reading of the red pointer is used for inspection at the factory, so we don't need to care about it.
