Fully Automatic Water Meter Test Bench Components

The piston assembly provides a stable, low flow rate for the test bench and is suitable for production testing and product development testing of low-flow metering instruments.

The flow rate of the piston assembly is calculated by multiplying the piston's internal cross-sectional area by the piston's displacement over a period of time. A linear encoder is used to measure piston displacement, improving displacement measurement accuracy. The linear encoder outputs an AB quadrature signal, which improves accuracy by four times.

The piston assembly consists of a frame, piston cylinder, piston rod, servo motor, linear encoder, and sensor.

A Panasonic servo motor is used. A servo motor converts voltage signals into torque and speed to drive the controlled object. Changing the voltage signal can alter the servo motor's speed and direction.

The servo has a built-in 23-bit encoder, providing higher control precision. The servo system precisely moves the piston based on instantaneous flow and calibration signals sent by the host computer. The servo motor features high starting torque, a wide operating range, no self-rotation, and high positioning accuracy. It is widely used in various automation control systems.

• The water tank is made of 304 stainless steel and features a liquid level sensor at the bottom. Software can monitor the current tank level. An optional electric heater provides water temperature control with an accuracy of ±1°C. It is covered with insulation to minimize energy loss

• Optional chillers and thermostats are available based on testing requirements

Used to stabilize the pressure of the piping system.

Water pumps are used to supply water for flow rates of Q3 and above. It is also used to flush out bubbles before testing.

The meter inspection pipeline consists of a meter clamp, piping, and a switch valve.

The clamp can be adjusted to accommodate meter lengths, allowing it to hold a variety of meter sizes. It utilizes an external pneumatic clamping mechanism to effectively prevent air leaks caused by seal damage due to extended use.

The device utilizes a single-row, reversible clamp driven by a servo motor, which facilitates vacuum extraction of wet-type water meters, eliminates air bubbles and water stains on the meter dial, and increases the success rate of image recognition acquisition.

Our water meter test bench is equipped with a piston mechanism, offering stability, reliability, good repeatability, high automation, and ease of operation. It effectively avoids start-stop artifacts and generates no heat, ensuring constant water temperature.

A METTLER TOLEDO electronic scale is used as a standard (depending on the water meter test bench, the scale varies; the small scale is 60 kg/6000 E, and the large scale is 12,000 kg/6000 E). The scale is independently mounted on the outside of the equipment, minimizing errors caused by vibrations and facilitating calibration.

This calibration system helps users complete the entire water meter testing process. Operators simply configure parameters on the interface to automatically monitor operating parameters such as temperature and pressure.

The system then analyzes and saves the test data and automatically generates a calibration report. The entire process is intuitive and efficient, minimizing manual intervention. The system comprises modules for system management, parameter settings, calibration interface, and data query, offering comprehensive functionality and ease of use. It supports multiple communication methods, including serial, infrared, MBUS, and NFC, and can flexibly customize protocols to meet customer needs, ensuring compatibility with different types of water meters.
