What is the water supply network leakage rate?
The leakage rate of the water supply pipe network refers to the ratio of the water leakage of the pipe network to the total water supply during the water supply process. This is a measure of the water supply efficiency of the water supply system.
Calculation formula:
Ra = (Qa - Qae)/Qa×100%
[Ra: annual leakage rate of pipe network (%); Qa: annual water supply (km3); Qae: annual effective water supply (km3)]

What does water supply network leakage mean?
1. Economic loss
The water supply network system is the lifeblood of the city and the basic guarantee for people's life and production. The total amount of water resources in my country is large, but the amount of water available per capita is relatively scarce, and the problem of water shortage in cities is particularly prominent-hundreds of the 660 cities in China are short of water supply, and need to spend hundreds of billions of water transfers to solve the problem. However, due to the serious leakage of the water supply pipe network, the annual leakage of urban water supply in the country is nearly 10 billion cubic meters! Therefore, the leakage of the pipeline network means a huge economic loss.
2. Water supply water pollution risk
When the pressure of the pipe network is high, the water leaks out and is polluted. When the pressure inside the pipe is low, no pressure or negative pressure, the external sewage enters the pipe network. If cross-contamination is caused, it means that the water quality of the water supply is polluted.
