Many people are asking whether large-caliber water meters now have prepaid functionality. The answer is affirmative. With the advancement of technology, water meters have also been improved, naturally including prepaid functionality.
For example, now we have smart large-caliber water meters. A smart large-caliber water meter consists of three components: 1) a meter control valve, 2) a water meter, and 3) a smart controller. These components together form a complete large-caliber water meter. When choosing a smart large-caliber water meter, it is important to select one produced by a reputable manufacturer to ensure convenience in future use.
During the installation of a large-caliber water meter, the following points should be noted:
1) To facilitate maintenance of the water meter, it is recommended to install valves at appropriate positions upstream and downstream of the meter.
2) To compensate for installation errors and facilitate disassembly, it is advisable to install an expansion joint of the corresponding size downstream of the water meter.
3) The water meter dial should be installed horizontally with the dial facing upwards, and the arrow on the meter case should be aligned with the direction of water flow inside the pipeline. A flow straightener or straight pipe section longer than 5 or 10 times the meter diameter should be installed upstream of the water meter.
4) Users of the water meter must not disassemble or modify the control components on the meter or valve arbitrarily. If any issues arise, they should contact the relevant department for resolution.
5) When installing a water meter in newly laid pipelines, it is necessary to remove any stones, sediments, or other debris inside the pipes before installation to prevent damage to or malfunctions of the water meter. It is recommended to install a filter.
