Advantage and Application of Prepaid Water Meter

1. Introduction: The prepaid water meter is generally composed of a transmitter base meter with signal output, a control valve, a main control board, an IC card holder or a coil (used together with the RF card). It has created a water consumption mode of "paying first, then using water", which uses IC card as the charging medium. After purchasing water at the designated water purchasing point, the unit and individual using the card will store the water data into the smart water meter through the IC card. When residents use water, the remaining water in the meter decreases continuously. When the water volume decreases to the preset alarm volume, the water meter will close the valve and give an alarm. When the water volume decreases to the preset valve closing volume, the water volume will close the valve and cut off the water. At this time, users need to store water again before using again.

2. Product analysis:

Advantages: ① It effectively solves the problem of water fee arrears that has plagued water supply enterprises for a long time. ② The length of this type of water meter can be the same as that of ordinary water meter. It is very convenient to replace ordinary water meter with this type of water meter during the transformation of old households.

Disadvantages: ① Since such water meters are not connected to the network and cannot be read in real time, one of the important economic indicators of water supply enterprises, namely, the difference rate between production and sales, cannot be counted, so that water supply dispatching cannot be carried out, causing imbalance of water supply; ② Due to the lack of real-time monitoring and many management loopholes, when the water meter fails to measure normally or the valve is out of control, it will inevitably cause direct economic losses to the water supply enterprise.

3. Application: Due to the imbalance of social culture and regional economic development, the paid use of water resources and the lack of awareness of conscious payment, most cities in China are still facing difficulties in water charges, water disputes and other issues. The operation and management of water supply departments in medium and small cities in arrears of water charges have reached the level of restricting their development. In particular, the problem of arrears of water charges in northern cities of China is very serious, so prepaid water meters have a considerable market in the north.
