Industrial water meters are used for water pipes of large diameter pipes and with various pulse output options. At lower flow rates, the Woltmann turbine flowmeter is not as accurate as the positive displacement flowmeter and the jet flowmeter, but the flow path passes directly through the flowmeter, resulting in higher flow and less pressure loss than the flowmeter flowmeter. The measuring assembly does not occupy or severely restrict the flow path, resulting in a lower pressure drop across the meter. They are the instrument of choice for Mag Meters and are suitable for large commercial users as well as the main instrument for water distribution systems. Filters or filters typically need to be installed upstream of the meter to protect the measuring components from sand, ice crystals or other debris that may enter the water distribution system.
