Users should pay attention to the following items when using water meters:
1. Select the appropriate caliber: The choice of water meter caliber should not only consider the diameter of the pipe at the installation site but also the flow rate that is often used. It is recommended to choose the caliber so that the frequently used flow rate is close to or less than the required flow rate of the water meter.
2. Proper installation location: Choose a location that is convenient for disassembly and meter reading, and keep away from exposure and freezing to prevent pollution. Install an oil valve in front of the water meter so that the water can be cut off and the water meter can be removed.
3. Clean the installation pipeline: During installation, remove the hemp, ore, and other sundries in the pipeline to prevent the water filter from being blocked. A clog will cause increased reading errors and affect the water supply.
4. Avoid corrosive and high-temperature liquids: If the liquid in the pipeline has corrosive or high-temperature characteristics, the water meter should be avoided to prevent the deformation of the movement.
5. Correct installation posture: the water meter should be installed horizontally unless the vertical water meter needs to be installed vertically, the dial should be upward, and the direction of the arrow on the case should be consistent with the direction of water flow.
6. Prevent damage to the water meter: the water meter is a precision measuring instrument, and strong external force should be avoided to act on the water meter during use. Users should not break the seal or disassemble the internal components. If you suspect that the error of the indication value is too large, you can report it to the relevant department for testing.
If the user finds that the water meter measurement is inaccurate, the following measures should be taken:
- Check whether the installation and use are correct, and ensure that there is no blockage or accumulation of impurities in the pipeline to prevent fouling of the movement and increase in the error of indication.
- If the water meter is past its service life, consider replacing the water meter, as the aging of the movement may lead to increased deviations.
- Never use an inaccurate old water meter as a standard to measure a new water meter with high measurement accuracy. If you have doubts, you can go to the water supply management office in your district for adjustment, or send the water meter to the water meter testing center for testing.
For the situation where the rust inside the water meter causes unclear counting, the following solutions can be considered:
- If the water meter exceeds the service life, it is recommended to replace the water meter, or re-clean and test the old water meter.
- The new generation of water meters adopts the electrostatic spraying process of the watch case, which has the advantages of strong adhesion, strong corrosion resistance, and smooth paint surface, which effectively solves the problem of rust inside the watch. In addition, the digital display panel makes the reading clearer and more intuitive, which fundamentally solves the problem of unclear counting.
The above is common sense related to the installation, use, and measurement of water meters, and I hope it will be helpful to users. If you have any questions or need further consultation, please contact the relevant water supply management department or water meter testing center.
