The difference between large diameter water meter and small diameter water meter
The caliber refers to the diameter of the water inlet or outlet of the water meter, in mm, which is a necessary technical parameter to match the water meter installed on the pipeline. In the market, water meters are mainly divided into two types: large-caliber water meters and small-caliber water meters. DN15-DN25 are small-caliber water meters, and DN32 and above are large-caliber water meters.
The caliber of industrial drainage pipes is generally relatively large. If the caliber is too small, the gears of the water meter will be easily worn due to overload. For civil water, the caliber of the water meter is too large, and the water consumption of small flow will be difficult to measure. Therefore, DN15-DN25 Small-diameter water meters are suitable for residential users, DN32-DN40 large-caliber water meters are suitable for building meters, and DN50-DN500 large-diameter water meters are suitable for industrial meters.
In terms of material, small-caliber water meters are generally threaded connections, and large-caliber water meters are generally flanged. In addition, my country's small-caliber water meters are mainly made of copper, large-caliber water meters are mainly made of ductile iron, plastic materials are currently used in Shanghai, and stainless steel is mostly used for small-caliber drinking water meters or large-caliber ultrasonic water meters.
