     With the continuous development of smart water management, ultrasonic water meters are being increasingly used for residential and commercial water metering due to their high accuracy, low power consumption, and lack of mechanical wear. However, proper installation is essential to ensure accurate measurement and long-term stable operation. 1. Pre-installation Preparations

 

  • Pipe Flushing: Before installing the ultrasonic water meter, the pipeline must be thoroughly flushed to remove internal debris such as sand, rust, or other impurities, preventing them from entering the meter and affecting measurement accuracy.
  • Pre-installation Equipment: A shut-off valve and filter must be installed upstream of the water meter to facilitate maintenance and intercept impurities. It is also recommended to install a shut-off valve downstream for easier replacement or repair. To prevent backflow, a check valve should be installed either upstream or downstream of the meter

2. Precautions During Installation

 

  • Electrical Protection: Do not touch electrical components or pull wires during installation to avoid damage.
  • Installation Orientation and Position:

    When installing the water meter horizontally or at an angle, the ultrasonic flow sensors must be kept in a horizontal position.

    For vertical installations, the water flow direction must be from bottom to top to ensure measurement accuracy.

  • Consistent Flow Direction:

    Ensure that the arrow on the pipeline matches the actual water flow direction during installation. Incorrect installation will result in             measurement errors.

  • Sealing Gasket Installation: The sealing gasket must be placed correctly during installation to prevent displacement, which could cause blockage or leakage and affect the normal operation of the water meter.
  • Avoid Mechanical Vibration: Do not install the water meter near strong sources of mechanical vibration, as this may affect the stability and service life of the ultrasonic sensors.

3. Installation location and pipe section requirements


When installing a water meter, a straight pipe section 10 times the pipe diameter (DN10) should be reserved in front of the water meter, and a straight pipe section 5 times the pipe diameter (DN5) should be reserved behind the water meter.

 

4. Precautions Before and After Use

 

  • Display Refresh Interval: The water meter updates its display data every 4 seconds. When measuring water volume, ensure the valve is closed and wait at least 4 seconds before recording the initial or final reading to avoid inaccuracies caused by refresh delays.
  • Flow Rate Control: During operation, ensure the medium flow rate remains within the meter's measurable range to prevent measurement errors or device damage due to overrange conditions.
  • Priming the Pipeline: Before use, the pipeline must be filled with water; otherwise, it may lead to inaccurate measurements or failure to register flow.
  • Fault Handling: In case of abnormalities (e.g., measurement failure), promptly contact the management department. Do not attempt disassembly or repairs, as this may cause further damage

 

5. Tamper-Proof Management and After-Sales Instructions


To ensure product safety and after-sales service, the water meter is equipped with a one-time tamper-evident seal, which may only be removed by authorized personnel. If the user removes the seal without authorization, free warranty service will no longer be provided.
