What is a smart remote water meter

1. The water meter should be installed in a place that is convenient for maintenance and reading, free from exposure, freezing, pollution and mechanical damage.

2. The front end of the screw-wing water meter should have a straight pipe of 8-10 times the nominal diameter of the water meter. There should be a straight pipe of no less than 300mm before and after other types of water meters.

3. For the water supply system that combines life, production, and fire fighting, if there is only one inlet pipe, a bypass pipe should be installed around the water meter.

4. Maintenance valves should be installed on the front and back of the water meter and on the bypass pipe, and drain devices should be installed on the water meter and the valve behind the meter. In order to reduce the loss of water head and ensure the straight flow of water in the pipe before the meter, a gate valve should be used for the inspection valve before the meter. For household water meters in residences, there is no need to install repair valves and special drain devices after the meters.

5. The installation requirements of the hot and cold water meters are basically the same except for the different operating temperatures. The maximum working temperature of the hot water meter is 110°C. If the hot water meter is installed in front of the boiler or heat exchanger, to prevent backflow, a check valve should be installed behind the water meter.

There are two ways to install the remote water meter: the remote water meter that only plays the role of outdoor meter reading is relatively simple, as long as the water meter output system is connected to the outdoor data display device (repeater); One way is to connect all remote water meters of the entire building or the entire community to the community management department through a repeater and a network controller, and perform unified management through terminal equipment.
