Firstly, the most basic consideration in the selection of water meter size is the diameter of the pipeline installed. Generally, small-caliber water meters can be configured directly according to the nominal diameter of the pipeline. However, under the same diameter, the prepaid water meter should be adjusted by replacing the joint pipe fittings according to the spacing of the pipeline because of its complex structure and large shape; and large-caliber water should be adjusted by replacing the joint pipe fittings according to the spacing of the pipeline. The size of the meter should also be determined according to the flow rate and the commonly used flow rate in the pipeline, so as to avoid the damage of the meter caused by excessive load. (The same size of hot water meter and cold water meter)

Secondly, the installation of water meters should be carried out in accordance with GB/T778.2-2007 national standards for water meter installation:
1. Before the installation of water meters, impurities and sediment in the newly installed pipelines should be thoroughly washed to ensure that the water meters will not damage the machine core of the water meters due to excessive impurities in the use process, thereby affecting the service life;
2. To ensure the service life of the water meters; The accuracy of water meter measurement, the length of the straight pipe before and after the inlet and outlet of the water meter should be greater than 5 times the nominal diameter;
3. Water meter should be installed horizontally to keep the dial upward, the water flow direction of the water meter should be consistent with the water flow of the pipeline, and inverted, skewed and skewed installation should be prohibited, which will affect the measurement of water meter.
