How does a positive displacement water meter work?

The working principle of the positive displacement water meter is that under the action of water pressure, the water enters the measuring chamber from the lower water inlet, and pushes the rotary piston to rotate around the central axis of the measuring chamber. When the piston rotates, the rotating shaft and the fork are connected with the counting mechanism, so as long as the number of times the piston rotates, the volume flowing through the water meter can be calculated.

The most important product of positive displacement water meter is the rotary piston water meter. The disc water meter is not used in China, and it is only used in a few countries such as the United States. Rotary piston water meters are generally small-caliber specifications, characterized by high measurement levels (up to C and D levels), strong small flow measurement capabilities, and high sensitivity. At present, it is mainly used for the measurement of pure water in pipelines. The inner diameter of the water meter is generally 8, 15 and 20 ram. The repair and debugging of positive displacement water meters is more complicated and requires higher water quality, so it has not been widely used in my country.
