A simple way to detect leaking water pipes in your home
Before starting the home leak detection work, we must first determine one thing, that is, whether the pipeline is really leaking, and how to judge the leakage of the pipeline. We usually carry out a pressure maintenance test to determine whether the water pipeline leaks. There are several methods of holding pressure test:
1. Turn off all water in the house and observe whether the water meter moves. If there is movement, it means there is a suspicion of water leakage. The water meter does not move, indicating that the suspicion of water leakage is small, but it cannot be 100% sure that there is no water leakage (for example: the micro-leakage water meter does not move, and the downstairs resident reports that there is water leakage on the roof of his house), there may be other factors that are not pipes. of water leakage;
2. Buy a 30 yuan pressure pump online to test it, and it can also be used in the future. Close the main valve of the water inlet pipe, then close all the faucets and angle valves in the house, and then remove a faucet for pressure (usually 8-10 kg pressure). If possible, it is best to remove all the places with faucets in the house and block them with plugs (to avoid damage to the faucets). Special attention must be taken to remove the water inlet pipe of the water heater. When measuring the pressure, the pipe opening to be pressed should be kept away from the leaking area as far as possible to avoid the interference of pressure noise. (Note: In some cases, the pressure test can be performed directly from the water heater inlet pipe)

3. Under normal circumstances, press the cold water pipe first. If the cold water pipe does not leak after passing the pressure test, it is also necessary to carry out a pressure maintenance test on the hot water pipe to see if the hot water pipe leaks.
4. After the pipeline is pressed, check whether the pressure drops according to the length of time. If the pressure drops, it can be determined that the pipeline is suspected of leaking.
