S.H. Meters has independently developed a smart water meter that supports both 4G and 2G network communication. It features a built-in dual-mode communication module, which can automatically or manually switch between 4G and 2G networks based on the strength and quality of the local network signal, ensuring stable and reliable data transmission.

Why is a "dual-mode" water meter needed?

• Complex network environments: The installation environments of water meters vary significantly-some are located on the surface with good signal strength, while others are in locations with weak signal strength, such as basements, wells, or remote areas. A single 4G module may fail to operate properly under weak signal conditions.

• Incomplete 4G coverage/phase-out risk: Although 4G is mainstream, in some extremely remote or enclosed areas, 4G signals may still be unavailable, whereas older 2G networks often have wider coverage. At the same time, with the rollout of 5G, some operators plan to phase out 2G networks gradually, but this process is gradual and varies by region.

• Ensuring connection reliability: The dual-mode design provides "double assurance." When the 4G signal is weak, the water meter can automatically switch to the more widely covered 2G network for data transmission, minimizing the risk of "loss of connection" due to network issues.
